Structure and applications of heating tanks

Heated mixing tanks are water baths, with water or oil as the middle layer. Heat is transferred indirectly to limit combustion, and the insulation layer minimizes heat loss to the environment. The mixing tank is heated to warm and thoroughly mix the materials during the production process.

Hong Chau Machinery specializes in manufacturing and supplying various types of heated tanks according to customer requirements, providing free consultation on production lines for each factory.

Heating Tank Structure

A heating mixing tank basically consists of the following parts: control cabinet, motor, tank lid and base, mixing shaft, and mixing blades.

The heating mixing tank is designed with three layers:

The innermost layer contains the material to be mixed: In this layer, the impeller will be in direct contact with the material being heated. The mixing blades must be made of high-grade stainless steel (Inox 304). The surface of this layer must be carefully treated, as improper treatment will directly affect the product.

The middle layer is the heating layer containing oil or water: this layer is used to heat the material. Heating solutions can be used in various ways, but oil or water is commonly used for heat transfer.

The outermost insulation layer: this layer usually uses a thinner sheet metal than the first and second layers to reduce costs. This stainless steel layer is used to wrap the insulation with the insulation pipe, helping to limit heat loss and prevent scorching when touching the mixing tank.

All parts of the heated mixer are made of 304 stainless steel. High-gloss surface treatment is available upon customer request.

What are the applications of heated mixing tanks?

Heated mixing tanks are extremely important machines in industrial production workshops and factories. Heated mixing tanks are used in most industries such as:

  • Food industry: Heated mixing tanks are used to cook and stir soybeans, corn syrup, lotus seed milk, salads, mayonnaise, peanut butter, sesame, butter, ice cream products, healthy foods and other nut milks… or to produce common consumer goods such as: fruit juices, soy sauce, chili sauce, satay sauce and other spices… etc.
  • Cosmetics industry: Heated mixing tanks can be used to produce cosmetics such as: shampoos, creams, gels, lipsticks, perfumes, etc.
  • Pharmaceutical industry: to produce hot liquids, ointments, injections, essential oils or herbal concentrates.
  • Everyday chemicals and cosmetics: cosmetic creams, lotions, shampoos, detergents, health products, gels, laundry detergents, hand soaps, underarm lotions, paints, pigments, dyes, phosphate solvents, rubber and plastics, pesticides, shoe polish, general chemicals, etc.
